Steve Jobs: Never Settle — 3 Comments

  1. “Don’t settle.” I love it!
Don’t settle; don’t give up; don’t take the easy road. (a little ‘pep-talk’ to myself)
    Thanks for sharing!

  2. I have mixed feelings about Steve Jobs (something that might be considered unkind on his demise). I admire the work he did at Apple (one of the companies featured in the book “In Search of Excellence,” though IBM, his arch-nemesis was also in the same book). He chose a path that excluded interacting with other PC makers till much later, so that buying into the Apple family, meant forsaking all others, and for many became almost a religion, but relegated Apple to a faithful, but minority, share of the market for many years (mostly excluded by most businesses), which was partly why the Apple Board forced him out at one point. However, they could not survive without him, invited him back, and he went on to innovate the ipod, and then the iphone, which largely redeemed both him and Apple, as well as move on to integrate with the rest of the PC world. Now Apple stock, formerly in the dirt, resides in the stratosphere.
